Home / Construction Insurance

A policy exclusion can be the difference between your construction business success or failure

The Construction Industry has long been one of our specialties. We insure thousands of contractors in Colorado. We take the time to evaluate your operation to make sure you are correctly insured and minimize your exposures.

Did you know that many insurance companies in Colorado exclude new construction of tract or multi-family homes… or that some policies limit coverage to how your agent classified you on the policy declaration page? Does your policy have an earth movement exclusion or open roof exclusion? A typical Commercial General Liability policy has upwards of 20 exclusions!

We know that a policy exclusion or incorrect classification can make the difference between growing your business or bankruptcy.

Most common Denver Contractors Insurance questions from our clients

What types of insurance do you provide for contractors?

We provide every line of insurance a contractor may need including Commercial General Liability, Excess/Umbrella Liability, Pollution Liability, Contractors Equipment, Auto/Trucks, Bonds, Builders Risk.

Am I correct in assuming that if I don’t withhold taxes on my workers’ pay then they are considered to be sub-contractors?

NO. A popular misconception is that just because you do not withhold taxes on your workers’ paycheck that they are then sub-contractors. Many contractors make this mistake and wind up paying thousands of additional dollars of additional premium when the policy audit is completed. Contractors that use sub-contractors should have a signed agreement in place as well as a certificate of insurance from the sub-contractor on file.
